Advancing Connections in the Autism Community

The Capital Area Autism Network (CAAN) is committed to addressing the most pressing and impactful needs of the Autism community in the Baton Rouge area through connection, opportunity, and advocacy.

In 2023, the CDC put the prevalence rate for autism at 1 in 36. That equals nearly 30,000 children in Louisiana, and autistic children become autistic adults who continue to need supports and accommodations throughout their lives. CAAN is working to bring stakeholders across the area together to grow connections, promote increased opportunities, and advocate for the needs our community.

Your support is critical in this mission. It helps make sure we can continue to host our twice-yearly stakeholder meetings, convene advisory committees, and advocate for increased accommodations. Thank you!
